Now let’s check another new lamb curry recipe. The recipe is quite simple and effortless.


For cooking Mutton:

  • Mutton- 1 Kg
  • Onion- 1 (sliced )
  • Tomato-1 (chopped )
  • Crushed Ginger- 1 tablespoon
  • Crushed Garlic- 1 tablespoon
  • Green Chilly-3 (Crushed )
  • Fenugreek- 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red Chilly powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder- 2 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder- 1 teaspoon
  • Salt- as per needed
  • Water- 1 cup water

For the curry:

  • Onion- 2 (sliced thin)
  • Tomato- 2 ( sliced )
  • Curry leaves- a handful
  • Green Chilies- 2 ( sliced thin)
  • Ginger- 1 inch piece ( sliced thin)
  • Garlic- 5 cloves (sliced thin)
  • Achari Gosht masala powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chilly powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder- 1/4 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder- 1 +1/2 tablespoon
  • Cilantro leaves- a handful (chopped )
  • Salt- as per needed
  • Ghee- 2 tablespoon

(Note: You need a pressure cooker for this recipe)

How to make:

  1. Firstly add all the ingredients for cooking mutton in the pressure cooker and mix well with hands. Give a nice massage so that all the ingredients will be mixed nicely. Close the pressure cooker and cook this in medium flame.Switch off the flame after 5-6 whistles and keep it aside to cool. The number of whistles depends on the mutton, if it is not cooked, go for more.
  2. Now heat a pot with ghee .Then add curry leaves, ginger, garlic , onion and green chilies.Saute it well in medium flame along with some salt.Cook this for 3-4 minutes till the onion becomes soft and tender. how to cook mutton curry
  3. Now add all the spice powders and saute well. Cook this for 2-3 minutes and add tomatoes. cook this in medium flame with the lid closed for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Now add some mutton stock from the cooked mutton to this and cook for another 4-5 minutes. Check for salt and other spices. If needed add more.how to make mutton curry
  5. Later add the cooked mutton pieces along with the curry. Mix it well with the rest of the  masala and cook this for another 10 minutes in low flame with the lid closed.
  6. Sprinkle cilantro leaves and switch off the flame.
