Strawberry Trifle with Homemade Coffee Cake And Strawberry Custard
Hello everyone,.Eid Mubarak to all my friends over here..so here is my sweet treat to you all, Strawberry Trifle with Homemade Coffee Cake And Strawberry Custard..
First we ( me and hubby..)made a coffee cake and thought would turn it to a layered strawberry cake!! But later we changed our mind.. Because we are not cake lovers!! But we love pudding & desserts.. So the idea of trifle came to our mind…
and this post is going to be a big one with more than 3 recipes ..
here i am taking this yummy treat to my friends over at Angie’s party…
For Strawberry Custard:
- strawberry-10-12( pureed )
- all purpose flour-4 spoon
- milk-1 1/2 glass
- Egg yolk-3
- powdered sugar-1 cup
For Coffee Cake:
- all purpose flour-1 1/2 cup
- self raising flour-1 1/2 cup
- milk-1 cup
- sugar-1 cup(powdered)
- baking powder-3 spoon
- instant coffee powder-3 spoon(mixed with 2 spoon hot water)
- salt-a pinch
- parchment paper
For Frosting Cream:
- Whipping cream-1 cup
- cream cheese (soft)-250gm
- sugar-1 cup
- coffee cake-sliced thin to square pieces
- strawberry custard
- strawberry-24(sliced thin )
- chocolate chips-as per needed
- frosting cream
- milk-1 cup
How to make:
1)take a mixing bowl..add the egg yolks and beat well..to this mixture add the powdered sugar and beat well…
now start adding the puree to the thick mixture..
2)beat well to a smooth mixture…now add the flour and blend well..
3)by this time boil the milk at medium flame and start adding the strawberry mixture to the warm milk and keep stirring without a gap…continue this until you get a thick texture..now off the flame and keep stirring..let it cool and set at room temperature..
so yummy strawberry custard is done…!!
1)first take a mixing bowl(i bought new 1 :-)),add the melted butter and sugar together..beat well for 5-7 mins …then start adding the eggs 1 by 1..beat continuously..
2)now start adding the mixed and sifted dry ingredients(ie, AP flour,self raising flour,baking powder ,salt) to the mixture in batches..keep beating without any stop!!
3)do add the milk also alternatively..continue this until the flour and milk gets finished..the batter should be soft and smooth ..at this point add the coffee mixture and blend well..
4)now grease the baking dish with butter and place a round shaped parchment paper over it..then pour the cake mixture to this..and bake it for 20-25 mins in a preheated oven at 250 degree..
do check with a fork/tooth pick the cake after 15 mins to avoid overcooking..!!
yummy coffee cake is ready…!! i sliced it to square shape for fitting it to my trifle dish..
For Frosting Cream:
1)in a mixing bowl add the cream cheese and icing sugar together and beat for 5 mins at high…to this add the whipping cream and continue to beat for another couple of mins..beat till you get a thick frosting cream!!
so frosting cream is ready!!
so here we are with our final layering process!!!
1)soak the cake slices in milk and place it on the baking dish as the first layer..do it evenly..
2)now lets do the second layer..with a spatula apply frosting cream all over as a thick even layer,,
3)over the frosting place the strawberry slices and chocolate chips ..his our third layer..
4)now above this again place the soaked cake slices and top it with a thick layer of strawberry Custard..:-)
5)now finally,place the strawberry and chocolate chips all above the custard layer as per wish!!
oooh!! so our yummy trifle is done..
keep it in the refrigerator for few hours before serving,..
this was the main attraction of all our Eid & birthday-anniversary celebrations..our guests too loved it..especially kids:-)!! and of course my dear hubby was really impressed …
with the remaining ingredients i did another trifle on a jar and it was so cute…
do give a try to this once..do it with ready made cake slices if you feel lazy to bake a coffee cake..
