Shepherd’s Pie( my first attempt?)

Shepherd’s Pie(my very first attempt):

I always wanted to try Shepherd’s Pie at home each time i see an image or hear on television?..but wasn’t sure how!!!!??but today decided to try it somehow..

And I watched a youtube Video to get the instructions regarding the basic steps involved in it..the one i watched was an awesome video by my favorite Chef-Laura Vitale??!! Do check her youtube channel..

from there, i got the idea of preparing it..and i made changes to the recipe to as per our taste buds with some Indian Spices and removed the wine and all..and thus i had my First Shepherd Pie in life?!!it tasted awesome….

I am taking this to Angie’s Fiesta Friday Party as well..?

so here’s my version of Shepherd’s Pie:

How to make:

1) first lets prepare the beef .. Heat a pan..add oil and then add tge minced beef along with some salt..

4)now add all the masala powders and sauces..also add more salt if needed..

5)again cook well till the beef becomes tender.. Now add the peas and cook for few more mins and off the flame..

6)now lets prepare the Potato crust!!first boil milk along with butter in a pan..

7)pour this solution to the boiled Potato & garlic along with some chilly flakes..and keep this on low flame for 5-6 mins..

8)the potato should be mixed thoroughly with the milk and become soft..

9)now off the flame and mash it and add 1 egg yolk ..

10)now lets do the final layering before baking it out..take a baking tray.. Grease it with some oil and spread the first layer of beef filling..

11)try to make the layer tight and even.. Now spread the mashed potato topping evenly all ver it nicely..

we are ready to bake now?!!

12)bake this in a pre heated oven at 200 degree, for 25 mins or more !!

and our super yummy Shepherd’s pie is ready??!!

  1. Love shepherds pie and yours looks perfect and delicious.

  2. Your shepherd’s pie looks delicious! Your story about never having one reminds me a lot of my own cooking. I never used to eat brownies. (I didn’t like cake or cookies as a kid either, I knowโ€ฆ weird). But then, when I was diagnosed with celiac disease, I wanted to try the GF brownie mix. So, I made brownies for the first time, but I didn’t actually know what a brownie normally tasted like. Anyway, my attempts at baking usually take a few tries, but it looks like this came out beautifully on the first try! Thanks for sharing. ๐Ÿ™‚
